Sara Eriksson

Sara Eriksson hails from Helsinki, Finland and is pursuing an MA degree in Classical Archaeology at Lund University in Sweden.  She is a visiting student at the University of California, Berkeley for the 2017-2018 academic year.  Her interests lie primarily in Roman archaeology and history, with a particular focus on subaltern narratives.  She participated in the Summer, 2015 field season of the Apolline Project, near Naples, Italy, and in 2016 and 2017 participated in the Swedish Institute in Athens’ Kalaureia Project on the island of Poros, in Greece.

During the Fall, 2017 semester Sara is engaged in revising the Harris matrices for the various sectors of the Palatine East site using the program Harris Matrix Composer and implementing a user interface tool developed for PEPP with support from a Mellon Foundation Digital Humanities at Berkeley grant that will enable users of RES ROMANAE to visualize the data in the PEPP - Pottery Groups Database via the relevant Harris matrix.
