Lab Director - J. Theodore (Ted) Peña
Ted Peña serves as Director of the RMCL. He is Professor of Roman Archaeology in the Department of Ancient Greek and Roman Studies at UC Berkeley, where he is also a member of the faculty of the Graduate Group in Ancient History and Mediterranean Archaeology and an affiliate of the Department of Anthropology, the Department of Italian Studies, the Archaeological Research Facility, and the Institute of European Studies.
His research interests include the archaeology of Roman and pre-Roman Italy, Roman ceramics, the Roman economy, ceramic analysis, material culture studies and text-based archaeology.
He currently directs two research projects - the Palatine East Pottery Project and the Pompeii Artifact Life History Project.
