Gina Tibbott

Gina Tibbott is a studio potter, archaeologist, and ceramic researcher who has worked in Pompeii for over a decade.

After completing her BA in Classical Archaeology and Fine Arts at the George Washington University, she worked as a ceramics technician for many years in both academic and commercial settings. Tibbott completed her MFA in ceramics in 2008 prior to entering Temple University’s anthropology department as a doctoral student, where she researches ancient ceramic technology.

She has worked on the staff of the University of Cincinnati’s Pompeii Archaeological Research Project: Porta Stabia (PARP:PS) since its inaugural season in 2005, and has worked with Berkeley’s Pompeii Artifact Life History Project (PALHIP).

She is the founder and owner of Fieldwork Ceramics LLC (http://www.fieldworkceramics.com/), a small-batch ceramic company and experimental archaeology studio based in Philadelphia.
