PALHIP - Authorization, Assistance and Funding
PALHIP has received permission to carry out its work in the form an annual letter of authorization issed by the administrative head of the branch of the Italian antiquities service responsible for the archeological site of Pompeii and, in 2016, for both the sites of Pompeii and Oplontis. For the 2012 study season this was Professore Antonio Varone, Direttore degli Scavi di Pompei, for the 2013 and 2014 study seasons Dottoressa Grete Stefani, Direttore degli Scavi di Pompei, and for the 2015 and 2016 seasons Professor Massimo Osanna, Soprintendente per i Beni Archeologici di Pompei, Ercolano e Stabiae.
The project's work has been facilitated in countless other ways by Professor Varone, Dottoressa Stefani and Professor Osanna, as well as by numerous other functionaries (some now retired) working for the Soprintendenza Speciale per i Beni Archeologici di Pompei, Ercolano e Stabiae, including Alfonso Boccia, Antonella Bonini, Stefano Borgongini, Domenico Busiello, Laura D'Esposito, Giuseppi DiMartino, Sara Masseroli, Renato Mele, Luisa Pagano, (the late) Luigi Petraccone, Ernesta Rizzo, Vincenzo Sabini, Annamaria Sodo, Patrizia Tabone, and Luana Toniolo.
